ABSTRACT
This work seeks to evaluate the effects of water pollution on plants and animals. Water pollution is a major global problem which requires ongoing evaluation and revision of water resource policy at all levels (international down to individual aquifers and wells). It has been suggested that water pollution is the leading worldwide cause of deaths and diseases, and that it accounts for the deaths of people on a daily basis. An estimated 580 people in Nigeria die of water pollution related illness every day, (WHO,2008). Around 60% of the water in the cities of Nigeria is polluted. And as of 2013, a good number of Nigerians had no access to good drinking water. The work seeks to create awareness on the health and environmental implications of polluted water. It hopes to proffer lasting solutions that will help minimize water pollution in our environment.
